Meesha Madhavan is a sparking comedy and a laugh raiser. The film's male lead Dileep and Jagathy Sreekumar with their antics brings the house down. To a certain extent director Lal Jose has met the audiences' expectations regarding a comedy film. Needless to emphasis that Dileep fans will have a blast in this fun filled ramp.

The story is old as the hills, but it is the presentation and humour that makes the film interesting. Madhavan (Dileep) is better known in the village as 'Kallan' Madhavan as he is a petty thief. Strangely everybody in the village adores him, as he is a sort of Robinhood to the villagers. Madhavan had a childhood friend Rugmini (Kavya Madhavan) who later went to the city for studying in a city college. Her father Bhageerathan Pillai (Jagathy Sreekumar) is a local landlord and moneylender. Pillai hates Madhavan and when his daughter comes back from city, he brainwashes her against Madhavan. So, Rugmini too hates him and sees that she traps Madhavan by hook or crook. But later she realizes that Madhavan has a heart of gold and starts loving him. As the love blossoms between them, sub inspector Eapen Pappachen (Indrajeet) comes to the village and soon has a confrontation with Madhavan. Along with Pillai, Eapen spins a web for Madhavan and accuses him of stealing the idol from the local temple. How the lovers unite in the end forms the climax of the film.

Meesha... is an engrossing comedy. S.Kumar's camera has etched the beauty of Pollachi while Vidyasagar's music is the highlight of the film. Jagathy Sreekumar as Bhageerathan Pillai is superb and he has proved once again that he is the undisputed king of comedy. Runway Malayalam Movie

Top actors are often accused of playing safe, hardly venturing beyond the carefully constructed matrix of image. Only seldom they try to experiment or do roles that go farther than their traditional ken.

After seeing Dileep's Runway you understand the reasons for them. This big-budget action genre is a new one for Dileep, cast as he is mostly in a boy-next-door kind of roles. At the end of it all, you almost feel: 'it is better if Dileep had preferred to play a role that he is comfortable with'. Dileep is also let down by a tepid script and some loose direction from the veteran Joshy.

 Having said all this, Runway also has its tender moments. The film revolves around Unni (Dileep) who dupes his family that he is working in Gulf but in reality involved in the illegal spirit business with Bhai (Murali). Unni runs errands for the terrorizing Chinnadan (Riyaz Khan) in Valayar area. Unni, however, is forced to tell about his other side to Gopika (Kavya Madhavan) who his mother is insistent that he should marry. Things come to a head when Unni's brother (Indrajeet) becomes a police officer. As it happens, he is honest and tough-as-nails and gets posted in the Valayar area where, by now, Unni and Bhai have become big-time operators. And not surprisingly, with his brother breathing down his neck, Unni wants to turn a new leaf. Is it possible for him to shed the all-reaching tentacles of the underworld? Will the baddies of the underworld allow him to change? The rest of the film is all about that.

 Dileep, as Unni, is first-rate, especially when he builds stories about how things are 'back in Gulf'. Those are typical Dileep stuff. But as the operator among criminals, Dileep looks a misfit as he neither has the stature (in the physical sense) or nor the oozing menace. But he plods on manfully. Kavya, as his ladylove, passes muster. But her role is too brief. The standouts of the film are however Indrajeet and Murali. Both revel in their characters; Indrajeet in particular as the policeman (shades of Shashi Kapoor in Deewar) is positively brilliant.

 The music by Suresh Peters is contemporary but lacks the feel. The film has also been shot in scenic locations like Phuket (Thailand). But they look like needless ostentation. Joshy, the director lets slips opportunities as he treads the masala movie path.

Vaasthavam is (2006) film directed by M. Padmakumar. With Malayalam actor Prithviraj Sukumaran in the lead role. But in the turn of events, One Thripran Namboodhiri (Salim kumar) comes with an offer to marry his niece to Balachandran, thereby agreeing to make him a secretariat staff and there by save their sinking family. Sumithra forces Balchandran to risk their dreams for the sake of his family. He is forced to forget his murappennu and childhood playmate Sumitra and is compelled to marry Surabhi a girl from a rich family, to tackle the serious economic adversities that his family faces. Not withstanding the family chaos Balachandran's younger sister Shubha walks out with Adivasi leader Sreedharan, in the day of the Balachandran’s marriage, causing irreparable damage to the family reputation, following which his mother dies. Sumithra finally marries a cruel and corrupt police officer who is always doubtful on the character of his wife.

At this juncture Balachandran joins the job at the Secretariat. He lives with seventy year old Unnithan Asan who acts as his guide all through the corruption filled secretariate. His financial needs also tends him to become another corrupt officer who is always in the lookout for money and power. He deliberately pretends himself as a bachelor which gives space for Vimala, a divorcee to make a try in his life. He haves sex with her & manages the situation well, and with the help of Vimala, who happens to be the relative of revenue minister Pattam Raveendran, climbs the ladder of bureaucracy in a rather speedy way

The film opens with a ‘Manthravadi’ (Pithamagan Mahadevan) an evil magician spiriting away a friendly ghost (Mammootty with horns) to obey to his commands and make money through crime. Meanwhile a group of kids and their benefactors are held hostage in a circus camp by the baddies, who has taken over the show.

Ancy (Kavya) is coming back from Delhi, to take charge of the circus company founded by her father Philipose (Janaradhanan), who was found murdered. On reaching there, she is told that her father was stabbed to death by a bike-jumper named Jimmy (Mammootty).

In fact Jimmy, his foster father Krishnettan (Innocent), aide Sisubalan (Suraj Venjarammood) and a gang of street children were all invited by Philipose to join his circus group.

Meanwhile the ghost (Mammootty, in his other role) appears, becomes friendly with the kids and takes a more stylish shape of Jimmy. Thanks to the ghost, Ancy realizes that Jimmy was innocent in the whole issue. Now the battle between the good and evil begins.

Gopalakrishnan Pillai (Mohanlal) is a money-lender in a village. People misunderstand him to be money-minded, without having any emotional bond even towards his mother or younger brother Ramakrishnan Pillai (Ajmal Ameer).

As the story moves along, we learn more about the hero. He is considered heartless, as he threw out his father (Sai Kumar) when he was a teenager, for his father's wayward lifestyle. His mother (KPAC Lalitha) hates him for doing that and his brother hates him because he does not let his brother pursue his dream of being an actor and never gives him any freedom.

His main antagonists are Siddique and his younger brothers. Kavya Madhavan assumes the role of Jayalakshmi, a bank manager who is seen as a threat to Gopalakrishnan's money lending business.

It turns out that Ramakrishnan Pillai is in love with a girl (Mallika Kapoor) from Gopalakrishnan Pillai's rival family. Though Gopalakrishnan Pillai arranges the marriage forgetting the rivalry, after marriage he asks his brother to repay him the expenses he incurred for the marriage and prompts the newly weds to sleep separately. With this he becomes the most hated person of his brother and mother. Frustrated Ramakrishnan Pillai leaves house and joins his in laws against Gopalakrishnan Pillai by saying that his money-lending business is illegal. Still that doesn't work.

Ramakrishnan Pillai accuses his brother of processioning the family wealth alone and files a suite against him in the court. In the climax it is revealed by Gopalakrishnan Pillai's advocate (Jagathy Sreekumar) that Gopalakrishnan Pillai has kept his hard earned wealth in the name of his younger brother and he was always hard on him just to make him responsible. It also is revealed that his father was not thrown out, but committed suicide in a distant place due to his debts. The story ends happily as the brothers reunite and everyone apologizes to Gopalakrishnan Pillai.
